Law Enforcement Information
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(1) PROOF OF FLORIDA RESIDENCY FOR ONE YEAR
(2) Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (CJBAT)
(3) Physical Training Pretest (Qualifications on Physical Fitness Assessment Form Link Below)
(4) Application Fee due at registration $10.00
(5) Birth Certificate
(6) High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED Scores Aggregate of 225 if Non-Florida)
(7) Military Discharge (DD214) or Statement of No Military Service
(8) Social Security Card
(9) Drivers' License
The following are training center requirements:
(1) Physical Exam (CJTC Form 75B) with EKG Results and Drug Screen.
(2) Fingerprint Process* $55.00 payable by cash or money order.
The CJBAT is a Criminal Justice specific test required by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement prior to admission to a Corrections or Law Enforcement certification program. The CJBAT is given on specific days in the Testing Section in the Administration Building. There is a $40.00 fee for this exam. For further information on testing, call 941-6200, ext. 2160. The physical training pre-test is given in Room 106 and has to be scheduled with the Training Center. This test consists of three categories: 1.5 mile run, sit-ups and push-ups. The requirements are listed below. *Fingerprint processing must be completed prior to class registration.

Successfully complete the basic recruit program at George Stone Criminal Justice Training Center. The tuition for Law Enforcement is $2,840.60. Uniforms are purchased separately at a cost of approximately $300 - $400. The Law Enforcement basic recruit instructional program is comprised of seventeen chapters. A state certification exam must be passed upon completion of basic training.
